Warm Chia and Flaxseed Porridge

This is a delicious warm winter porridge for those who love my Chia Pudding Recipe. I particularly like this porridge as includes the fibre, fat and gut soothing properties of flaxseed but also has the creaminess of the chia and coconut milk. As chia seeds can get caught in the lining of an unhealthy gut and cause further inflammation, this recipe is NOT for when you're on the protocol. However, yummy when you're not and your gut is feeling healthy. If you have any digestive issues I recommend my Flaxseed Porridge (just be cautious if you are sensitive to too much fibre).

Enjoy this delicious, warming and nutritious porridge, it mostly cooks itself so you can keep getting life ready while it's soaking and cooking in the mornings.

Preparation Time 2 minutes

Cook Time 15 minutes including soaking

Serves One 

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon of chia seeds

  • 2 tablespoons of ground flax seeds

  • 1/4 cup of coconut milk (preferably AYAM coconut milk in a can)

  • 5 drops of vanilla stevia

  • 1/2 pear, finely chopped

Directions

  1. Combine chia seeds, flax seeds, coconut milk, vanilla stevia with half a cup of water in a small saucepan. Sit for 10 minutes

  2. Add finely chopped pear and bring to a simmer on medium heat for 5 minutes. Stir occasionally until the pear softens

  3. Serve immediately with coconut yoghurt, sprinkled hemp seeds, walnuts and a few more thin slices of pear.

     

NOTE:

You could do apple or berries instead of pear, just ensure they are cooked long enough to soften.
