Gut Health Flaxseed Porridge
May 17, 2023This simple breakfast porridge is a saviour on the Bio-Alai Health System Protocol. Full of omega 3's, fibre and polyphenols, it's easy to make each morning for busy people on the go and sustaining till lunch. If you find you need a little more protein for sustenance, then have some Amino Acids / poached/baked chicken or fish on the side.
Ingredients

3 tablespoons flaxseeds ground
- 3/4 cup water
- 1/2 cup frozen or fresh berries OR 1/2 finely chopped pear with a good sprinkle of cinnamon
- 4 drops vanilla stevia (optional)
- 1 tablespoon plain coconut yoghurt (optional)
- 1 tablespoon MCT oil on top (optional)
- 2 tablespoons hemp seeds
Directions

Soak ground flaxseeds in water in a small saucepan for 5 minutes. You can leave them longer.

Add ½ cup berries or pear, vanilla stevia and heat, stirring till warmed through and thickened. You can smash berries or leave them whole.

Top with coconut yoghurt, 1 tablespoon MCT oil (if tolerated) and sprinkle with hemp seeds for crunch.
If you are in a hurry or travelling, you can add the flaxseeds into a small thermos and pour in boiling water. It will only take a minute to thicken and continue with recipe.
